Viola K. Gushow

Mrs. Gushow passed away Tuesday morning January 13, 2015 at the Bay Valley House in Bay City, Michigan. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Conrad and Bertha (Ittner) Loessel was born on December 20, 1919 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Parish-St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and formerly owned and operated the Madison Square Tavern in Bay City. She enjoyed baking, sewing and Gardening and most of all spending time with her family. Left behind to cherish her memories are two daughters and one son-in-law; Janice and Leo Pietryga and Sharon DuBay of Bay City. Seven grandchildren; Karen and Tony Torti, Diane and Joe Kotas, Brad and Linda Pietryga, David Pietryga, Michele Hibberson, Brian S. DuBay and Sheri DuBay, four great grandchildren; Taylor and Austin Kotas and Mitchell and Lauren Pietryga and many nieces and nephews. On January 30, 1937 she married Edward F. Gushow and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1999. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law; Donald DuBay, one brother and sister-in-law; Erwin and Dorothy Loessell and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Julie and Rex Edgette. Funeral Services will take place Thursday evening January 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Private entombment will take place in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial contribution to Bay County Humane Society or Czestochowa Catholic Parish.
