Ritterscamp, Viola M. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Ritterscamp passed away Friday evening June 27, 2014 at her residence at the age of 85 years. The daughter of the late William and Mable (Menthon) Burghdorf was born September 5, 1928 in Flint, Michigan. On June 19th 1948 she married William Ritterscamp and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1997. She was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, worked at the Linden Hoff Bar and Restaurant and Wolverine Knitting Mills until her retirement. Viola enjoyed crocheting, camping, square dancing in which she wrote a short column for the Paw Paw Paper. She also enjoyed being a member of the LFA Hall where she served as Vice President for 10 years. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law; Margaret and Andrew Rokosz, one sister-in-law; Nancy Burghdorf, many nieces, nephews and her special friend; Jerome Cieslinski. Besides her husband Bill she was preceded in death by two sisters; Elaine Moyer and Anna Bellor and two brothers; Harvey and Robert Burghdorf. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Visiting Nurse Service and Hospice Program for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Mrs. Ritterscamp during the time they cared for her. The Funeral and Committal Service will take place Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 706 W. Jane St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schweppe and Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private Entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Freeland. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Ritterscamp will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" will be available at the funeral home.
