Virginia May Barber

Barber, Virginia May of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Saturday morning August 11, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Age 77 years. The daughter of the late James and Ione (Lambka) Anderson was born on May 5, 1935 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, was an avid bowler for over thirty years, enjoyed spending time at their cottage and most of all she loved and cherished her grandchildren. She was looking forward to meeting her twin great grandchildren; Kash and Eliza Brown due in October of 2012. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Floyd and Irene Barber of Auburn, one daughter and son-in-law; Wendy and Ben Dishaw of Bay City, six grandchildren; Anjie and Dave Brown of Petersburg, MI, Brett (Shannon Oswald) Barber , Troy Barber, Marcus Barber all of Auburn, Joshua Dishaw and Joni Dishaw both of Bay City, three step grandchildren; Molly, Denver and Chloe Brown of Petersburg, MI, two sisters; Lynda (Dave) MacArthur and Karen (Jim) Deming, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Lynn (Velma) Barber, Marilyn (Richard) Charbonneau all of Bay City, three very special nieces; Denise Moreau, Jamie Moszyk and Dawn Scott and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On December 18, 1954 she married her husband Terry Barber and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2004. She was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law; Delores (Derrill) Coger, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Lyle and Valerie Barber. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring and compassionate staff at McLaren - Bay Region, especially the staff at the Infusion Clinic on the fifth floor for their kind and loving care they extended to Mrs. Barber during the time they cared for her. Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Sr. Joanne Toohey with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for the American Cancer Society will be available at the funeral home.
