Mrs. Virginia E. Maday, of Bay City, passed away early Monday morning, September 29, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region, age 90. The daughter of the late Clarence & Louise (Dukette) Bertram, she was born March 17, 1924 in Saginaw. Mrs. Maday was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the Purple Heart Auxiliary. On March 31, 1945 Virginia was united in marriage to Arthur E. Maday and he passed away on December 6, 1999. Left behind to cherish her memory are two sons and one daughter-in-law: Gary and Linda Maday of Essexville and Gregory Maday of Auburn, two grandchildren; Andrew and Ethan Maday, one sister; Patricia Cittel of Au Gres, one brother and two sisters-in-law; Dewey and Connie Bertram of Texas and Clara Redding of Saginaw and a brother-in-law; Larry Shull of California. Mrs. Maday was also preceded in death by two sisters; Shirley Bertram and Carol Shull, and a brother, Harvey Bertram. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Andreas H. Teich with private interment in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Maday will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
