Virginia Marie Sommerfield

Mrs. Sommerfield passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Brian's House following a brief illness. Age 74 years. She was born April 26, 1935 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church enjoyed cross stitching and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.Virginia is survived by one son; Herbert Sommerfield, two daughters; Bonnie Spaulding and Christine Ciszewski all of Bay City, two grandchildren, Katie & Eric; two sisters; Penny Dukarski of Essexville and Diane Walczak of Bay City, two brothers and two sisters-in-law; Walter and Elayne Leske of Bay City, David and Shan Leske of Bay City, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; June and Ken Keyser of Bay City, sister-in-law; Karen Leske of Bay City, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On October 26, 1957 she married Herbert Sommerfield Sr. and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2007. Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents; Arthur and Luetta (Kintner) Leske and two brothers; Timothy Leske and Peter Leske.Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 12:00 O'Clock Noon at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard D. Starr with interment following in Elm Lawn Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Sommerfield will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 11:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" will be available at the funeral home.
