Vivian L. Kintner

Vivian Louise Kintner (Hill), of Beaverton, passed away on Monday, November 15th 2010 at Brian's House in Bay City after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease. She was born to Leo and Ida Mae Hill in Hazel Park, Michigan on July 16th 1929. She married Elmer "Red" Kintner on September 7th 1947 and they remained together for 49 years. He predeceased her in 1996. Vivian raised two children, worked as a secretary at Beaverton Elementary, enjoyed dancing, sewing, painting and bowling. She was also a member of the VFW Post in Beaverton as well as the American Legion. Red and Viv enjoyed many summers at their cabin on Higgins Lake with their children and grandchildren, and they both also loved to travel. Left to carry on her memory are her two children and their spouses, Cathy and Dave Scott of Saginaw, and Dan and Cathy Kintner of Beaverton along with three grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Appold of Bay City, Cory Kintner and his fiancée Dawn Jaworski of Auburn, and Molly Kintner of Ann Arbor. Vivian also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren, 2 brother-in-laws, 1 sister-in-law and 10 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Loretta Wiltse. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 20th at the Community of Christ Church of Beaverton 214 W. Brown St., Beaverton. The family would like to express sincere gratitude towards the staff at Brian's House especially Dr. Parmer for making Vivian's last days comfortable and memorable. Those planning on expressing sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Brian's House or the Community of Christ Church of Beaverton. Arrangements are by the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. of Bay City.
