Vivian Valentina Metzler-Hall passed away at her residence on February 28, 2012 in Bay City, Michigan at the age of 88. She was born on February 14, 1924 in Coopersville, Michigan to Margaret and John Metzler. Passing before her were her two brothers, Fred Metzler of Nunica, Michigan and Philip Metzler of Orange, California. She attended Coopersville High School where she met John L. Hall at the age of 14. Later, they married in 1946 and lived in Coopersville, St. John's and Bay City for 34 years until he passed away in 1980 from cancer. Vivian and John raised five children that survive her; Carolann Hall of Perrysburg, Ohio, Sharon (Ken) Wierenga of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Steven Hall of Norcross, Georgia, Diana (Brad) Timmons of South Charleston, Ohio and Marsha (Randy) Carbo of Marietta, Georgia. She had 11 grandchildren; John, Michelle, Sabrina, Matt, Aaron, Jarrod, Bo, Jordan, Lindsey, Davis and Greg and three great grandchildren. Vivian was married again to Robert Skwark. He passed in 2006. She is also survived by many extended family and friends whom she loved dearly, specifically, Nancy Crispin, who took great care of her in her last days. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, John in Coopersville, Michigan, where a small service will be conducted at the Throop Funeral Home on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.. Friends may call at the Throop Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
