VOGEL, Wendelin F. "Wendy" of Bay City, Michigan. Mr. Vogel passed away suddenly early Monday morning March 29, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 90 years. He was born November 25, 1919 in Cato, WI. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Ushers Club. Wendy retired from Dow Corning Midland Division after thirty two years of service as a supervisor. He enjoyed the Detroit Tigers, Green Bay Packers and was an avid sports fan. He served with the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by one son and one daughter-in-law; Gary and Sharon Vogel of Bay City, two daughters and two sons-in-law; Wendy and Alan Tacey of Essexville and Teri and Richard Wanger of Denver, CO, five grandchildren; Trent and Trevor Tacey, Tiffany Vogel - Boots, Amanda Vogel and Tasha Eurich, nine great grandchildren; Cole, Brayden, Kendall, Hudson, Evan ,Ben. Haily, Noah and Ayu, one sister; Margaret Fogeltanz of WI, several nieces and nephews. On June 3, 1944 he married Amelia G. "Millie" Schiattone in Maxwell Field, Alabama and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2007. He was also preceded in death by one grandson; Chad Tacey, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A special thanks to Matt for all of his help. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday April 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1005 Third St. Bay City. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick C. O'Conner with the Rite of Committal following at St. Patrick's Mausoleum under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Vogel will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for St. Joseph Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
