BLADE, William Charles of Bay City, Michigan William Charles Blade, age 67 years, died suddenly Thursday, January 7, 2010 in the comfort of his home. He was born October 20, 1942 to the late Bernard and Jessie Blade in Ludington. Bill was a graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1960. He was employed by General Motors from which he retired July 1, 2008, after 37 years of loyal service as a proud member of the UAW. He was the owner and operator of the Lighthouse Lounge, referred to as "Captain Bill", where he impacted the lives of many. He was a man who always followed through on his commitments, cared deeply for his family and friends, and worked hard every day of his life. He was famous to us for his quirky one-liners which always kept us smiling. His beautiful smile embodied a genuine good time. He was a country boy at heart. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; son Clinton; brother Jim; sister-in-law Ella; step-daughters Karen and Sheri; step-son Thomas; granddaughters Amanda and Sara; grandsons Bradley, Taylor, Brenden, Austin, and Mason; and his adoring cocker spaniel Winston (a.k.a. "Winnie"). He is also survived by his faithful employees. Bill was predeceased by his infant daughter Shanna and brothers Gary and Mike. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Gephart Funeral Home from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veteran's taking place at 4:00 pm. Memorial Cards for Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
