William H. Schmidt

Mr. Schmidt passed away Sunday morning, October 23, 2016 at Health Source in Saginaw. Age73 years. The son of the late Harry and Marion (Kosecki) Schmidt was born July 16, 1943 in Bay City. Mr. Schmidt was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. He retired from General Motors. Mr. Schmidt enjoyed fishing, making and inventing things. He is survived by his wife of forty five years the former Karen A. Kerkau whom he married March 13, 1971; his children, Wendy Beach, Brenda (Gregory) Carter and Brad W. Schmidt; his grandchildren, Alexa Gerhardt, Dylan Gerhardt, Skyler Schmidt and Mecciah Schmidt; one sister, Marsha (Tom) Gwizdala. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Beach; two brothers, James Schmidt and Michael Schmidt. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Susan C. Rich with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday to receive family and friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
