William L. VanGuilder "Bill" Bay City, Michigan Bill VanGuilder passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at the home with his family and friends by his side. Age 65 years. The son of William and Mary (Motko) VanGuilder was born August 15, 1950 in Bay City. He proudly served his country for three years in the United States Army in the 82nd Airborn Division. Bill lived in Michigan most of his life, enjoying the great outdoors and also spent time in Arizona and Virginia where he learned the plumbing trade. He was a plumber for over thirty five years and spent 16 years at Bay City Home Depot where he enjoyed working with his co-workers, customers, family and friends he met there. Even thought he had a rough demeanor he was truly generous and caring to all that knew him. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed golfing. He is survived by his mother; Mary, three sisters Jean (Mark) Bartlett, Linda (Terry) Prior and Susan Mueller, one brother; Bob (Jackie) VanGuilder, special niece; Kristy Prior and other nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father; William L. VanGuilder Sr. and one brother; Mark VanGuilder. A special thanks from the family for all Bill's great friends for their help and support, especially Mark Stoddard and Chip Kiesel. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Doug Bassett with interment following under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday to receive visitors from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
