Willie G. Garcia

Mr. Garcia passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1933 in Laredo, TX. Willie retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1995 with 32 years of service. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Willie had a passion for music and loved entertaining. He played the guitar and sang and loved to dance. Willie also enjoyed fishing, traveling and was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers.
Willie is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dolores Valencia Garcia; eight children, Mike Garcia, Yolanda P. (Dan Cisneros) McCoy, Alexandra P. Garza, Juanita D. (Hector) Velasquez, Cindy L. (Rudy) Flores, Ricardo R. (Melissa) Garcia, Dr. Lisa A. Garcia-Heintskill and David V. (Delphine) Garcia; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother. Willie was predeceased by his mother, Florentina and his father, Anselmo; and three brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to thank everyone at Hurley Medical Center for the excellent care Willie received.
The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at All Saints Parish, St. James Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Jose Cabrera with the Rite of Committal following at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Garcia will lie instate at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
