Zachary Paul Sawicki

Zachary Paul Sawicki, of Bay City, Michigan passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 16, 2012 at his residence. Age 22 years. The son of Gary and Debra (Hoerauf) Sawicki was born March 30, 1990 in Southfield, Michigan and has resided in Bay City all of his life. Zach was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and was Confirmed in 2004. He graduated from Bay City Western High School in 2008, was employed at Hoerauf and Appold Farms, McDonald's restaurant on West Side Saginaw Road and was recently accepted to serve with the United States Marines. He enjoyed soccer, disc golf, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his parents; Gary and Debra, two sisters; Gillian Sawicki and her special friend; Brad Keidel and Paige Sawicki, grandparents; Thomas and Nancy Hoerauf of Bay City, his aunts and uncles; Lynne and Scott Armstrong of Brighton, Angela and Warren Appold of Bay City, Victoria Sawicki of San Francisco, CA and Christina and Jim Story of Colorado, his cousins; Cameron and Braden Armstrong, Weston and Rylan Appold, Erica and Jill Cwalina and Jaboli and Daniela Sawicki, great aunts, great uncles, his special friends; Mike Schwab and Brandi Lodge and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Frank and Sophie Sawicki. A Memorial Service will take place Friday April 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss. At the request of the family cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the Church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. and until the time of services. For those planning an expression of sympathy the family ask that you consider a memorial to the donor's charity of choice, St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust Memorial Fund or Valley Lutheran High School for a memorial to be established in memory of Zachary at a later time.
